Violet Gertrude Wolfe

WOLFE, Violet Gertrude, 95, of Milton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in Queens Manor, Liverpool.

Born in Chester, Lunenburg Co., N.S., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Althea (Bezanson) Dauphinee.

She lived most of her years in Port Medway where she worked  for the Red Cross and Wight’s Fisheries. She made beautiful quilts and hooked rugs that were sold to people in the States. She loved camping at Hibernia Lake. She enjoyed playing radio bingo, music and planting gardens. She always had a beautiful smile for everyone and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters Freda Nowe and Nora (Arnold) Whynot of Port Medway, Evelene (Raymond) Wolfe of Milton, son Amos (Marie) Wamboldt of West Berlin, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Step-daughter Mona Turner of Ontario, Step-son Clark Wolfe of Frobisher Bay, sisters Leona Bezanson of Chester Basin, Letha Farley of Hillsview Acres, Middlefield and Ellen Wamboldt of Milton.

She was predeceased by her first husband Hasting Wamboldt, her second husband Alexander “Sandy” Wolfe, daughters Eileen Wamboldt and Kathleen Lockwood, Grandsons: Lester Nowe Jr., Wade and Matthew Whynot, granddaughter Ann Marie Lohnes, brother Joseph Dauphinee, half sister Jennie Weagle, half brothers Maurice and Gordon Dauphinee and step son Blanchard Wolfe.

 Visitation will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool,  A graveside funeral service Friday, March 12th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Milton Community Cemetery. Reverend Fred Carr officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Milton Community Cemetery or to the Queens Manor Auxiliary. Online condolences may be made at www.chandlersfuneral.com
