Harold Frederick Wolfe

WOLFE; Harold Frederick, 89, of Western Head, Queens County, passed away suddenly in Beaverbank, NS on Friday, July 20th, 2012.

           Born in Western Head, he was a son of the late William and Hilda (Guest) Wolfe.

           He served overseas during World War II with the West Nova Scotia Regiment from 1941 to 1945 and was involved with the liberation of Sicily and Holland. A self-employed fisherman for 47 years, he enjoyed carpentry work, gardening and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jessie (McCoombs), sons Walter (Yvonne) of Bridgewater and Wayne of Toronto. Granddaughters Jennifer (Jarrett) McKay of Cole Harbour, Jaime (Kyle) Walker of Beaverbank, Julie of Halifax, and great-granddaughter Jasmine McKay. His sisters Vera Coombs of Milton, Ethel (Gordon) Dorey of Liverpool,  Dorothy Wolfe, Ruby ( Milford) Roy, and Margaret Wolfe, all of Halifax. Brothers Donald of Halifax, Forrest (Mary Jane) of Parrsboro.

He was predeceased by his sister Kathleen Conrad. Brothers Archie, Raymond, Kenneth and Willie.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24th, 2012 from 7 until 9 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 25th, 2012 at 11.00 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool. Chaplain Donald Lawton officiating. Burial will be in Grace Anglican Cemetery, Western Head. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool.
