WINTERS – Marilyn Dawn, 72, of Liverpool, passed away March 2, 2021 in Queens General Hospital.
Born in Pugwash, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Arthur and Marguerite Wamback.
In Marilyn’s earlier years, she spent her days working for the Teddy bear Express and Make-A-Wish Foundation bringing smiles to the faces of many.
She and her husband, Joe, had a great love for travel and saw many parts of the world with New Orleans being their favourite to visit. She had always said how thankful she was for the things she saw and experienced in her lifetime.
Marilyn had many passions with some being her love of folk art as Joe was a great artist, eating ice cream, cats, spending many days in Frenchy’s, being silly, collecting anything Betty Boop, the dance ceremonies of the Funky Witches and Beach Meadows Beach which Marilyn considered her “happy place”.
Marilyn will always be remembered for her spunk, free spirit, her compassion, colourful hair and mostly as the lady who drove the pink Hummer.
Marilyn is survived by by her sister Diane DeBaie of Petticodiac, NB; her brother Lorne Wamback of Dartmouth; her niece Tammy (Joe) Colburn of Fordland, Missouri. Her chosen daughter Danielle (Lance) Slauenwhite of Brooklyn, her special little girl Cali Slauenwhite and her very good friend Faye Levy of Brooklyn. Marilyn will also be missed by many friends she considered family and her beloved fur babies.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Joe, the love of her life and her step son Terry.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A visitation service for Marilyn will take place on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. with prayers being said at 7:30 all in Chandlers’ funeral Chapel, Liverpool, NS. Live streaming of the service will be available by clicking the following link: https://distantlink.com/Chandlers.html All those attending are asked to wear bright clothing in memory of Marilyn and bring a mask, hand sanitize, provide funeral staff with COVID tracing information and practice social distancing whenever possible.
