WHYNOT – Burton William, 89, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
Born in Liverpool, Burton was a son of the late Kenneth Charles Whynot and Florence (Stewart) Westhaver-Whynot.
Burton was employed with the Department of Transportation for many years as a snowplow operator. He also owned his own gravel truck and he also enjoyed working with his sons, Chris & James doing tree removals and driveway sealing. Burton was a horse lover, he spent most of his life around horses. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who got joy from his family and was so proud of their accomplishments. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Burton is survived by daughters, Judy (Vic) Westhaver of Mersey Point, Janet (Bobby) Roy, Jane (Earl) Roy and Angela (Wade) Oxner all of Liverpool; sons, Chris (Kim) and James (Pauline) both of Liverpool; Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters Dorothy (Milton) Dorey of Mader’s Cove, Hazel Roach of Halifax, Rita (Bill) Wells of Liverpool; brothers, Mike (Debbie) of Dartmouth, Freeman (Anna) of Liverpool; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Burton was predeceased by his loving wife, Jean; sisters Elsie Ingram, Lizzie Slauenwhite, Rhoda Whynot and Florrie Whynot, brothers Donald Stewart, Leo Westhaver, Kenneth Whynot, Daniel Whynot and Harold Whynot.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S. At Burton’s request, there will be no funeral service.
