Maxine Audrey Wentzell

WENTZELL – Maxine A, 77, of Halifax, formerly of Brooklyn, Queens County passed away peacefully in Halifax Infirmary January 8th, 2010.

           Born in Milton, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Violet (Joudrey) Whynot.

           Maxine was a sales clerk with the former Worthmore Store in Liverpool in her early years. She was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed baking, quilting, knitting and reading.

She is survived by her step-father Lester E. Smith (Evelyn) of Liverpool, son David (Kathy) of Caledonia, ON; daughter in law Yvonne Wentzel of Milton, grandchildren Jessica, Steven and Kyle, sister Shirley (Richard) Pierce of Edmonton AB., brothers Sherman (Carolyn) of Lunenburg Co., and Lester (Fern) of Milton.

She was predeceased by her husband Leaman, son Gary and brother Lorraine.

Visitation will be held Monday January 11th, 2010 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m., a funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 12th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. both from Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Burial will take place in Seaside Cemetery, Brooklyn. Reverend Jennifer Garbin officiating. Family flowers only.
