In the quiet of January 12th, 2025, with loved ones by his side, we said goodbye to Wade C. Mansfield at the age of 80.
Born in Westfield N.S. Wade was a son of the late Laurie and May (Frail) Mansfield. Like a gentle breeze, he touched our lives. Known for his love of hunting, the great outdoors, gardening and most of all his gentle spirit. Wade had a passion for carving folk art creations out of logs. They were displayed for many years until they rotted. He was very proud of his creations. Each one having a name and a meaning. He was devoted to his beloved dogs. He loved training them and taking them rabbit hunting. You could often hear him singing along to Hank Williams Jr. tune.
Wade is survived by his devoted sister Eva Frail of British Columbia, nieces, nephews, friends and his canine sidekick Buddy.
Besides his parents, Wade was predeceased by brothers Oliver, Edson, Glendon, and Claude; sisters Marlene, Louise, Lalia, Rosamond, and Rita. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandler’s Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service to follow in the spring. Donations may be made to the Hillcrest Cemetery, Westfield or the local SHAID Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be made below.
We would like to acknowledge and express our gratitude to Benji Mansfield for his unwavering support and advocacy to ensure Wade's well being. A huge thank you to the staff of Harbourview Haven for the care and compassion given to Wade during his stay and at the end of his days.
