TURNER – Emelie Elaine Liverpool, NS

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emelie Elaine Turner who passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Queens General Hospital, at the age of 91.
Emelie was born in Upper Branch, Lunenburg Co. on October 5, 1926. She was the youngest daughter of the late Brunswick and Laurena (Oickle) Rhodenizer.
Emelie was a member of the Lutheran Church in Bridgewater and was married there. She was a graduate of the business school in Bridgewater and went to work as a legal secretary for the C.R. Coughlin Law Firm in Bridgewater. Upon moving to Liverpool where her husband Lester was employed, she went to work for the Lester Clements Law Firm. Emelie worked for many years with Lester Clements before briefly working for the Department of Fisheries finishing her career as the head secretary for her husband’s company; Liverpool Chrysler Dodge.
Emelie was very active and a well respected member of Zion United Church. She had a passion for travel and food. She loved to cook and when she travelled, enjoyed sampling new foods. She travelled all over Canada and the United States including Hawaii and Alaska. She also travelled extensively throughout Europe, from Norway to Spain as well as many countries in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Emelie was also passionate about gardening, crafts, clothes, shopping, reading and exercise. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Sheis survived by her son Kevin of Liverpool; her granddaughters Chenneyne Lamrock of Halifax, Ciara Martin of Vancouver.
Emelie was predeceased by her husband Lester; her adoring sons Quentin and Harland; her sisters Helen Synder and Audrey Wagner, bot of Upper Branch.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday,  July 18th, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., from Zion United Church, Liverpool with Reverend Carol Smith officiating followed by a reception in the family home.
