Byron Beverly Turner

TURNER – Byron B., 88, of Mill Village, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, N.S., on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
Born in Hemford, Lunenburg County, N.S. Byron was a son of the late Charles and Jessie (Silver) Turner.
Byron was a general carpenter for most of his working life employed by various local contractors. He was a member of The Bridgewater Rifle Club, Hemford Volunteer Fire Department and Citizens on Patrol. In Byron’s early days he loved working with horses and enjoyed hunting.
Anybody who ever had the opportunity to meet Byron could never forget his positive outlook on life or his infectious laugh. It was this beautiful laugh that lead him to be lovingly known as “Ha-Ha” by his granddaughters and great grandchildren. His love and adoration for his family was visible at all times. His family will always have love and laughter in their hearts because of him.
Byron is survived by his step sons Michael (Donna) Herman of Western Head, N.S., John (Debbie) Herman of Brooklyn, N.S., David (Debra) Herman of Stony Plain, AB., step grandchildren Kristin (Shane Hatt), Michelle (Nathan) Croxen, Stephanie Herman and Melissa (Blake) Dickens; step great grandchildren Benjamin and Genevieve Croxen, Kenzie McPherson and Ember Dickens; sisters Mary Ellen (Wayne) Angell of Winnipeg MN., Yvonne (Clyde) Zwicker of Simpsons Corner.
Besides his parents, Byron was predeceased by his wife Joyce and his brother Marcel.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S., A private graveside service will take place at a later date in New Charleston Cemetery.
