Terry Freeman Cunningham

d. February 7, 2025

Cunningham, Terry Freeman, 78, of Liverpool, NS, formerly of Milton, passed away peacefully at Queens Manor, Liverpool on February 7, 2025.

Born in Milton, Terry was a son of the late Millard "Jake" and Vera (Berriman) Cunningham.

Terry worked at Stenpro for many years. He spent a lot of time with his horses, hauling wood along side his border collie, Pal and pulling teams at local exhibitions for Lester Turner. He was a meat and potato kind of man, but also enjoyed snacking on plain potato chips and black licorice. He liked to read the local Advance, play guitar, listen to bluegrass and watch the Red Green Show and the ATV news. Terry was always dressed in his green work pants and suspenders, smelling of wood smoke and Old Spice. You would often see Terry and Janet driving to town in his black Ford Tempo to pick up his Skoal longcut wintergreen chewing tobacco.

In his younger years Terry hung out with the Tupper Street crew. He chopped his own firewood and the grandkids loved climbing the woodpile. Terry enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren when they came to visit and he was very proud of all their accomplishments, big or small.

Terry’s most recent home was Queens Manor where he still had his sense of humor and liked to joke with the staff. They will always have a place in his heart.

Surviving besides his wife, Janet (Cunningham) are his daughters, Emily Cunningham of Port Medway, Shelly (Brian) Oickle of Bridgewater, Karen (Steven) Oickle of Liverpool and Pamela (Ashley) Whynot of Milton. Grandchildren, Jacob Oickle, Michelle Oickle, Dakota Cunningham-Whynot, Isaiah Cunningham, Cooper Sinclair and Bradley Sinclair.

Besides his parents Terry is predeceased by infant daughters, Nancy and Tracy and his brothers, Roger and Millard.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. There will be a graveside service held at the Milton Community Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., June 17th, 2025. Donation may be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be made below. Thanks to Dr. Gary Ernest who was Terry’s doctor throughout his entire life.

Let’s raise a can of Pepsi to honor Terry.
