MacAulay, Stavroula, 74, of Port Mouton, passed away peacefully at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, N.S. on Friday, December 13, 2024, with her family by her side.

 Born in Athens, Greece, Stu was a daughter of the late Michael A. and Pagona (Kastanis) Tectonides. 

 She emigrated to Canada with her parents at the age of two years. In her early years, Stu worked for the Bank of Montreal in Halifax & St. Johns, Newfoundland. Later, many years were spent raising her beloved son, Michael in Bear River, which continued when she worked a few years as a hostess at the Belmont Resort in Guysborough, before moving to Port Mouton and working for many years at Tim Horton's in Liverpool. On frequent weekends Stu travelled the province as a Curling Mom with the junior team that Michael was on. She also found time to volunteer on the High School Student Advisory Committee. Throughout much of this time, she was also a well known Mary Kay Lady and she served her many customers until recently, even while she was ill.

 Stu was very active in IODE and was a former Regent and current Treasurer of the local Gorham Chapter IODE. She was a former Treasurer of the IODE Provincial Executive Committee and currently South Shore Area Vice-President. She was proud to have recently received a Life Membership to the Provincial body for her steadfast service and commitment. Stu also loved to cook, especially recipes from Greece and was very proud of her heritage.

 Stu is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ken; her son, Michael of Halifax, N.S.,her brother, Gus, of New Minas; and her sister, Vivian, also of Halifax, N.S.

 Cremation has taken place at the direction of Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S. A Celebration of Stu's Life will be held at a date yet to be determined. Donations in Stu's memory may be made to the Liverpool food bank or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made below.
