Selig – Doris Jean, age 98, of Port Mouton, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017, in Queens Manor, Liverpool, N.S., surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Ninevah, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Nellie (Crouse) Fancy.
Doris was a very active lady, besides raising her family she enjoyed, playing cards, bingo, traveling, the occasional trip to the casino, gardening, quilting and she was also well known for her ability to hook rugs. Above all else, she was most passionate about her family and spending time with them. Doris had a great sense of humor and a warm loving heart.
She was survived by daughters, Janette Gammon, of Bathurst, N.B., Stacey Whiteside, of Victoria, Australia, Bertha (Alan) Foster, of Milton, N.S.; Sons, Wilfred ( Florence), of Vancouver, B.C., Victor, of Sarnia, Ont., Mark, of Milton, N.S. and Neil (Cheryl), of Liverpool, N.S.; 22 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Burton; daughter, Janet in infancy; sons, Carroll, Eugene and Millage; sisters, Lillian and Alena; brothers, Lawrence, Roy and George.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A private family service will be held at later date. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Queens Manor. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.chandlerfuneral.com
