Darlene Lorraine Roy

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Darlene Roy, announce her passing on July 16, 2022 at her home in Liverpool.
Darlene was born in Liverpool, daughter of the late Ralph and Beverly Baker and, at the age of sixteen, she married the love of her life, Ross Roy
Darlene was a caregiver to many special people. She loved spending time with her family and having everyone together as well as spending time with her best friends, Rosie Johnson, Johnny and Sharon Rhyno. Darlene would play radio bingo every week with Rosie. She loved her lotto tickets, McDonald’s coffee and can’t forget her Facebook. Darlene was always more than a grandmother; she was there for everything and always made things complete. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Darlene’s family will continue to be together and make her proud.
Besides her husband of 47 years, Ross, Darlene is survived by her daughter April (Danny Keans) and her son Jeff, both of Liverpool and her step son Ty Whalen. Her grandchildren Ataya (Kyle Stafford), Jessica (Ira Bell), Christopher (Jenna Nowe), Brooklin, McKenna, Lucas and Taylah. Her step grandchildren Charlotte and Atlantica Jollimore. Her great grandchildren Brendon, Jackson, Nicholas and Evelyn. She loved them all dearly as well as her dog Smokey. Darlene is also survived by her sister Elizabeth (Darren) Baker and her brother Ricky (Donna) Bollivar.
Besides her parents, Darlene was predeceased by her brother Johnny.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. At Darlene’s request, there will be no funeral service. A family gathering will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.chandlersfuneral.com
