Roy, Albert Eugene, age 78, of Hunts Point, Queens County. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce Alberts’s passing on Wednesday, March 11th, 2015, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, surrounded by his loving family.

 Born in Liverpool on March 29th, 1936, he was a son of the late William “Bill” and Lillian (Oickle) Roy.

 Albert was a loving husband and father. Always being an achiever, he was the manager of Acadia Store and Dominion. Being a sailor, he always went back to the sea. He owned and operated Roy’s Restaurant and later Roy’s Guest House. Albert was always a good carpenter building his own home, he loved his gardens and looking over the water from his home in Hunts Point.

 He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Sylvia (Brannen); son Kevin (Sherry), of Hunts Point, who was his pride and joy; sisters Lillian (John) Oickle, of Milton, Joan (Larry) Tiffany, of Utah; brother, Milford (Ruby), of Halifax; sisters in law, Betty Roy, of Greenfield, Bev Roy, of Liverpool; great step grandson, Stephen (Julia) Chapman, of Halifax and step great granddaughter, Cinderella; many nieces and nephews.

 He was predeceased by brothers, Calvin and Max.

 Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A Celebration of Albert’s Life will be held on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception, all from Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool. No flowers by request.
