Ronald Harold Zwicker

ZWICKER - Ronald Harold, 68, of Milton, Queens County, N.S. passed away peacefully in the ICU. South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025.

Born in Liverpool, Ron was a son of the late Harold and Marie (Alexander) Zwicker.

Ron was the friendliest guy you’d ever want to meet, a jokester, willing to help anyone anytime. Ron enjoyed trout fishing, deer hunting, volunteering at the Greenfield racetrack, watching hockey, noting that the Toronto Maple Leafs was his team, and watching baseball. He was an avid sportsman in his younger years playing hockey and was fortunate enough to play a few years of fastball with his son John. He went to many of Justin’s hockey and baseball games. He was very invested in the school fish friends program where he watched over aquariums in the schools and enjoyed talking to the kids about the hatching of the fish eggs and the care and the release as well. Stepsons Ivan and Mitchell had much respect for Ron, he treated them as his own always available to lend a helping hand. Ron loved his grandchildren from afar his two grandsons Dawson and Cohen both in Calgary, who he always enjoyed hearing from and seeing when they visited. Also his granddaughters who he adored, Fia and Phoebe who he would drop anything he was doing to spend time with them. He was exceptional at tying flies, known to have that one secret trout fly but he did share a few. He enjoyed his parking lot chats with a lot of his friends, his chats at Tim Horton’s getting his nightly Tim’s tea. Ron was a Mr. Fix - it, if he couldn’t fix something he would find a solution to get the job done. Noweta was never worried when something stopped working, he’d find a way to fix it. He had the biggest heart and so much love for his family, he will be greatly missed.

Ron is survived by his partner Noweta Nickerson, of Milton; sons Justin of Sackville, N.S.; John (Stacy Wynnyczenko) of Calgary Alb.; stepsons Ivan (Jennifer) Nickerson of Hammonds Plains, N.S. and stepson Mitchell Nickerson of Port Mouton, N.S.; grandchildren Dawson, Cohen, step granddaughters Fia and Phoebe; brothers Larry ( Karleen) and Bob (Kim) both of Windsor, N.S.

Ron was predeceased by his parents Harold and Marie.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S.

At Ron’s request there will be no funeral service. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Greenfield Dragway Association, the Medway River Salmon Association and the Queens SPCA where we adopted his buddy Russell.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool and the ICU of the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater for the exceptional care for Ron and also for the compassion they showed to his family.
