Brogan - Robert William, “Bob”, passed away peacefully at Queens General Hospital on September 25, 2024 at the age of 86.
Born in Minto, NB, Bob was the son of the late John and Iona Brogan.
Dad was a proud member of the RCMP for nearly 29 years and he and mom resided in many communities in Nova Scotia. Upon his retirement, Mom and Dad returned to Liverpool where he continued his career in law enforcement becoming sheriff of Queens and Lunenburg counties. Dad was well known for always having a joke or story to tell…some good, some not so good.
Bob is survived by his four daughters, Kelly, Karen (Mike Pratt), Kim (Kerwin Huskins) and Kathy (Martin Dumouchel). Also mourning Bobby are his ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren of whom he was their biggest fan.
Besides his parents, Bob is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Eileen (Chisholm) and his brother Jim Brogan.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Funeral mass will be held Monday, October 28 at 11am at St. Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church. No flowers by request, donations in Dad’s memory can be made to the food bank of your choice. Due to COVID restrictions, we were unable to celebrate Mom’s life at the time of her death; therefore, we will be hosting a celebration of life for both Mom and Dad following Dad’s funeral mass at Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Online condolences may be made below.
The family would like to thank the staff at Queens General Hospital who provided exceptional care to Dad over the last couple of months and took the time to listen to his cheeky banter.
