ROBAR – Lorne Robert, 68, of Middlewood, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 15, 2015 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Gold River, NS, he was a son of Fred Joudrey of Aylesford and the late Elva Elsie (Robar) Claridge.
Lorne was a house painter by trade, but his real passion was spending timein his workshop. His true gift was revealed in his carved walking sticks and hand crafted knives, which are all exclusively unique. Lonnie loved nature and all its beauty, spending many hours fishing, hunting, canoeing and gathering plants for food and medicine. Lonnie was a true friend and and loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his best friend Patricia Kaulback, his sisters Valerie Whynot of Wildcat Community; Sheila (Duane) Porter of Lunenburg; April (Sheldon) Hiltz of Maitland; Marlene Joudry (Dave Curry) and Wanda (Murray) Finigan, both of Bear River; Deborah (Eric) Freeman of Molega; Valerie Nauss of Bridgewater; Betty Claridge of Spryfield; brothers Steven (Mona) Joudrey of Molega Lake; Thomas Claridge of Chester; David Robar of Calgary; Chris (Donna) Claridge of Hammond’s Plains; Douglas Claridge of Iqaluit; Kevin Claridge of Dartmouth ; Kent Claridge of Yarmouth.
He was predeceased by an infant sister Ruth Claridge.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. At Lonnie’s request, there will be no funeral service. No flowers by request, donations may be made to a children’s charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
