Richard Lloyd Langille

d. January 4, 2025

Langille - Richard L., 73, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 4, 2025 with his family by his side.

Born in Liverpool, Richard was a son of the late Murray and Lottie (Lingley) Langille.

Richard was a mechanic for many years working for the same garage for over 45 years. He had a vast amount of mechanical knowledge and had a special touch for a big block transmission and knew just how to tune in a carburetor perfectly. He was a classic car lover, especially an old Chevrolet. He loved his ‘65 Chevrolet Biscayne that, at one point, he and Dwight Stafford loaded up with firewood one cold winter! Richard loved weekends at Hibernia, having a good time with lots of friends with his witty sense of humor, infectious laugh, always had smile and loved to make people do the same, a tale to tell and it was always time for a “sociable”! He was a protector, big brother to all, ran the "after hours bar" where many people were "regulars", always gave heartfelt advice and had many late night genuine laughs and heartfelt talks with George and Stephen. Often times, he could be seen with his little girl in tow and, later on, his little man Kale. They were his world and he made sure they knew it. Richard will be remembered as a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and uncle to all who knew him as well as his love of fast cars, racing, good friends and a long strong fight against cancer.

Richard is survived by his daughter Hailey Langille (Colin Frost) of Liverpool. Grandson Kale. Sisters Eileen (Mel) Loveridge of Bridgewater; Linda Langille of Bridgewater ; Charlotte (Robert) Kelley of Liverpool; Darlene Joyce of Dartmouth; Kathy (Barry) VanNorden of Buckfield. Brother- Mike (Sylvia) of Liverpool. Special Friends - Mike Leslie, Guy Gohier, Dennis White, Chris Wolfe, George VanNorden, Stephen Rolfe, Borden Dorey, Dwight Stafford and many others too numerous to mention.

Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by his sister Lisa and brother Roy.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. At Richard’s request, there will be no funeral service at this time. No flowers. Memorial donations to Greenfield Dragway at payment@nsdra.ca and the Memorial Auto Show at tlc_78@hotmail.com. Online condolences may be made below.

Special thanks to Dr.MacDonald and Bertha, the Palliative care and VON teams, and EHS for the care and comfort in his final days.
