Ida Jean Rice

RICE; Ida Jean, 95, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor, Liverpool on Thursday, February 27, 2014.

Born in Belmont, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Lemuel and Amy (Birch) Winchester.

Ida enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing the organ as well as cooking and baking for her family. She loved family time at the cabin. She was a life long member of the Brooklyn United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley Croft of Liverpool. Grandchildren Garnett Wilson, Reginald Wilson, Raymond Wilson, Jordan Croft. Great-grandchildren Felicity, Blair, Christian, Leanne, Christopher, Tara, Christopher and Brooke. Great-great-grandchildren Kale, Jersey, Jayna, Dawson, Rhianna, Teyanna, Tori, and Tayo. Her sister Lena Crossman of Summerside, PEI.

She was predeceased by her first husband Reginald Giffin, her second husband Ronald Rice and her brothers Stanley, Roosevelt, Melvin and Edward.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 1st, 2014 from 7 until 9 p.m. and funeral service will be Sunday, March 2nd, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reverend Steven Hopper officiating. Burial will be in Seaside Cemetery, Brooklyn. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
