Charlotte Gerber Reed

REED-Charlotte Gerber – Final curtain call for her was on December 23rd, 2009. She went to be with her leading man of 60 years, Norman Frank Reed.

She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on July 19, 1919. The supporting roles in her life were her father Joseph Appelt and her mother Elsa Gerber Appelt. The characters still on the stage are her sisters Dorothea Molleur and family of Massachusetts and Maine and Ruth Paulin and family of California. Her son Robert Allan Reed and wife Remy of Massachusetts and daughter Linda Jane Mueller and husband Mark of Texas. Her granddaughters Jennifer Bedard and husband Brian of Pennsylvania and Amy Mueller of Texas. Great-grandchildren Emily and Benjamin Bedard of Pennsylvania.

The acts of her life took her to various parts of the world with her last act in Port Medway, Nova Scotia for 37 years. They made many friends and became part of several extended families. She studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music. She was always an actress at heart and helped raise money for the community by putting on variety shows. Her smile and positive attitude will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Chandlers’ Funeral Home, in Liverpool on January 7th, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. Reverend Judy Cross officiating.
