Peter S. Wolfe

d. October 7, 2024

WOLFE, Peter Sidney, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the age of 74 at his place of residence in Brooklyn, Queens County.

Born in Brooklyn, Peter was the fifth child of the late Ronald and Doris (Kennedy) Wolfe, loving and devoted father to Crystell and Peter Jr. and very proud grandfather to Brett.

In his younger years, Peter was a natural athlete and loved sports, especially softball (center field), broomball, volleyball and bowling on a men’s league with his brother Lloyd. Peter was especially good at pool and spent many hours at the local pool halls.

Dad had a strong work ethic and rarely took a sick day. He started working at a young age painting houses and churches with Cyril Leslie. To support his young family he then worked as a labourer for the Town of Liverpool and then went to work for Nova Scotia Power as a Customer Service Representative and Meter Reader. "Peter the Meter Reader" was well known in the community. He literally knew everyone, and enjoyed the social aspect of his job.

His battle with serious and numerous medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing very difficult health challenges with humor, determination and a hefty dose of stubbornness. Peter was determined to live out his last years at home, his way. The family take comfort in knowing he was able to accomplish this with the assistance of his homecare team. Dale Wentzell, Tara Myalls, Norma Legge and Mary Evans, we will be forever grateful for the love, patience and care that you have provided. Dad loved you like family.

Besides his children and grandson, Peter is survived by his sister Shirley Dey, brothers Wayne (Linda), Lloyd (Juanita) and Leslie (Sheila), son in law Todd Wefer, daughter in law Lisa Hirtle and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his brothers Alex "Bunky" Kennedy and Ronald.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool. Nova Scotia. Private family ceremony to be held at a later date. Donations to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be made below.
