Fancy - Paul E., 72, of Westfield, Queens County, passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
Born in Caledonia, Paul was a son of the late Elbert and Helen (Crouse) Fancy.
Paul held numerous jobs throughout his life. He drove an oil delivery truck for Nelson Douglas, worked for Atlantic Wholesalers and Dale Forestry, but his most favourite was lawn maintenance and care giver for many in the community.
Paul enjoyed playing in the Men’s Softball League, hunting with his brothers, uncles and his father, driving the side by side, playing with his son’s tractor, spending time at the camper, riding his horses, attending variety shows and dancing with his wife, Gail. He whistled anything and everything and loved to cook for everyone. His favourite place was down in the basement watching westerns with Gail and his cat Patches, WWF and WWE wrestling. He was a Montreal Canadiens fan and known as a penny pincher extraordinaire.
Paul would dress up in random costumes just to entertain people at community events and loved to listen to old classic country music. He was an active member of Caledonia Baptist Church where he served as deacon and trustee. He was a “jack of all trades master of none type of person; a true duct tape and tie wrap enthusiast. He has the most recognized fiberglass Ford that everyone called "Paul" and insisted that everyone’s middle name was “Marie”. Before leaving for work every single day, he made his beloved wife Gail's breakfast and tea and always said "keep your stick in the ice". He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren whom he loved dearly and admired greatly.
Paul is survived by his wife Gail (Merry); his daughter Twyla (Gordon) Deschamp of Bridgewater; his son Jarrod (Tanya) of Westfield. His grandchildren Taygan, Taylor, Spencer, Brittany and Katelyn.
