Ellen Louise Nowe

NOWE – Ellen Louise, 86, of Milton, Queens County passed away in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Born in Milton, Ellen was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ethel (McCoombs) Manthorne.

Ellen was most passionate about her family and spending time with them, especially her beloved grandchildren. She was a very blunt and outspoken person who was known for speaking her mind. Although she was outspoken she was a good person with a good heart. Ellen enjoyed fishing in her younger days, playing bingo, going to dances and working on puzzle books. Ellen loved to smoke, she must have smoked a million cigarettes over her lifetime. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Vincent; daughters, Judy Westhaver of Milton, Sandra (Earl) Whynot of Milton; sons, David (Sharon) of Milton, Gary (Cavelle) of Chelsea and Terry of Bridgewater; grandchildren, Wanda, Jennifer, April, Trevor, Nicole, Shannon, and Jamie; many great grandchildren; sister, Dorinda White of Liverpool; brothers, Albert (Donna) of Ontario and Jimmy (Rita) of Greenwood.

Ellen was predeceased by sisters; Alice, Dolly, Gert, June and Donna; brothers, Roger, Billy, Fred and Allan.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. N.S. A graveside service will will be held on Thursday, March 24th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., from Milton Community Cemetery. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. No flowers by request.
