Eileen Madeline Neilson

NEILSON – Eileen Madeline, 78, of Milton, Queens County, passed away suddenly in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Wednesday, May 30th, 2012.

           Born in Milton, she was a daughter of the late Clinton and Kathleen (Leaman) Cole.

Eileen was a former school teacher for about a year before she went with the Royal Bank of Canada. Following this, she was  assistant Post Master for Milton for many years. She was a member of Milton Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, an elder emeritus, organist for over fifty years as well as a member of the Christian  Womens Fellowship. She also served as secretary treasurer for the Milton Community Association Ladies Auxiliary for twenty years.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years Bernard; daughter Patti (George) Fraser of Halifax; Derek of Milton; grandchildren Michael (Heather) Murphy, Ryan Neilson, Zachary Neilson and Whitney Neilson.

Visitation will be Monday, June 4th, 2012 from 7 until 9 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 5th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Milton Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Reverend Gus MacDonald officiating. Burial will he in Milton Community Cemetery at a later time.
