Jordan Edward Myra

MYRA – Jordan E., 99, of Moose Harbour, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Sunday, April 4th, 2010.

Born in Moose Harbour, he was a son of the late David and Clara (Munroe) Myra.

Jordan was a fisherman in his early years and later a dairy farmer. He often referred to himself as an “Ox jockey”.  He remained very active throughout his later years enjoying gardening and family projects.

He is survived by his daughters Aleta Rafuse of Moose Harbour, Nancy Anthony of Charleston. Grandchildren: Nicole Purcell of Halifax. Troy (Cheryl) Rafuse of Moose Harbour. Janice Manthorne of Devon, AB. Maureen (Paul) McGee of Halifax. Great grandchildren: Alexa and Patrick, Henry, Matthew and Jenna, Jordan and Micaela.

He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Tarr) his sister Gertie Munroe and his brothers: Walter and George.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 from 7 until 9 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool. Chaplain Donald Lawton officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Liverpool.
