Gerald Francis Moses April 13, 1942 to February 21, 2017
Born in Annapolis Royal to the late Donald and Evelyn Moses, Gerald leaves to mourn his wife of 53 years, Vina, daughters: Annetta Moses-Gorman, Cindy Moses and Wendy (Jeff) Zegray; grandchildren: Alexa, Samantha & Brandon Gorman, Justin Marriott, Nicholas Zegray; step-grandchildren: Kristen, Michael and Branden Zegray. A special addition is his Great Grandbaby girl, six-month old Eliana MacArthur. Gerald was very proud of his children and grandchildren and delighted in their accomplishments. A schoolteacher of 39 years, Gerald always said he never did get out of Junior High. Gerald not only graduated from Harkins Academy in Newcastle, NB but he began his teaching career there before moving and teaching in Halifax and Dartmouth. He was a talented musician playing lead guitar in 50/60 Rock ‘n Roll bands both on the Miramichi, N.B.including The Reunion Band and in the South Shore of Nova Scotia with Bluestar and The Silvertones with his wife and Melinda Naugler. He loved playing country bass with Dale Verge and Doin Country and backing local musicians. A musical celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at the Liverpool Legion, Sunday, March 5th from 2-5. His family extends a big thank you to 911, RCMP, ME Staff, Liverpool Fire Department and especially his daughter Annetta- an ICU nurse who bravely performed CPR until the paramedics came who sought to extend his life. We truly appreciated their efforts. Donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to QCCR Community Radio, PO Box 1244, Liverpool, NS or to the Hank Snow Home Town Museum, PO Box 1419, Liverpool, NS B0T 1K0.
