Mitchell Barry Mansfield

d. June 19, 2024

Mansfield, Mitchell “Mitch” Barry, age 70, of Waterville, formerly of Caledonia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, in Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, Waterville.

Born in Caledonia, he was a son of the late Leroy Sr. and Ruby (Frail) Mansfield.

Mitch often spoke lovingly of his large family through story-telling and really enjoyed visits with his sister Sylvia and husband, Bruce. Mitch had an outgoing and friendly personality, which created strong relationships with the people who surrounded him. Hobbies of Mitch’s included creating pieces of art, supporting his favorite hockey team (The Toronto Maple Leafs), and going on outings for his favorite treats – Pepsi and fish & chips. He certainly loved a challenge and achieved many personal goals of walking, riding an exercise bike and more! Mitch loved sharing these and other, as he would say: “stupendous” achievements with others.

Mitchell was often the life of the party; whether in a suit & tie or Toronto jersey, He could always be found dancing, laughing and socializing with the ladies and will be warmly remembered for his booming laugh, kind blue eyes and silly grin.

Mitchell is survived by sisters, Sylvia (Bruce) Fancy of Hibernia, Margaret Kelly of Blockhouse and Carolyn (Richard) Shupe of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Franklyn, Robert (Doreen) both of Harmony Mills, Ronald, Raymond (Annie) both of Liverpool, Neal of Westfield, Douglas (Mary), Roger (Donna), both of Antigonish and Edward of Alberta.

He was predeceased by sisters, Joan Brewster, Shirley Keans, Betty Whalen, June Whynot, Sharon Feener and Sally Corkum; infant brother Terry and brothers John, Donald, Leroy Jr., Michael and Jerry.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A private family graveside service and a memorial service at the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre will both be held at a later date. Family flowers only, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
