Ralph Edrick Minard

Minard, Ralph Edrick, 82, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away Tuesday, December 1st, 2009, in Queens’ General Hospital, Liverpool.

           Born in Harmony Mills, he was a son of the late Roland and Daisy (Shay) Minard.

After 4 years at Caledonia Supply Company he had a 35 year career with Rossignol Sales Ltd., the last 15 years as co-owner.

He enjoyed cross country skiing, fishing, hunting, curling and time at his cottage. Ralph enjoyed people, especially time spent with family and friends.

He was very active in his community as Past President of Kinsmen and K-40, 13 years as a fireman and an elder in Zion United Church. Ralph served on the board of Queen’s County Fair Association, Zion United Church, the Boy’s School in Shelburne and South Shore Opportunities. He was very active in the PC Party provincially and federally. He was a life member of Zetland Lodge No. 9.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Catherine Joyce (Lohnes); daughters  Elizabeth Anne (Neil) Emenau, of Hebbville, Donna Lee (Cameron) Hartling, of Lower Sackville, his special grandchildren Melanie (Tyler) Waye and Adam Hartling, sister Kathleen (Murray) Smith, of Caledonia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Wilbert, Clifford, Lawrence, Robert, Walter and Edgar and sister Marguerite Delong.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m., at Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 4th, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., from Zion United Church, Liverpool. Reverend Richard Bristo officiating. Burial will be in Zion United Church Cemetery, Payzant Street, Liverpool.
