McKenna, Lillian Louise, age 88, of Dartmouth, passed away at the Dartmouth General Hospital on October 7, 2021.

Born in Milton Nova Scotia, Lillian was the daughter of the late Everett and May(Brake)Hatt.

Lillian was the beloved wife of Lester McKenna for 38 years and the proud mother of Paul (Maria) of Vancouver, Dave (Kathleen) of Musquodoboit Harbour and Cyril (Maureen) of Toronto. She also leaves her five adored grandchildren, Erika and Jonathan of Vancouver, Michelle of Musquodoboit Harbour, and Aidan and Sean of Toronto, as well as her dear sister-in-law, Shirley Hatt, of Bridgewater, and several nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and their families.

Besides her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her brother Bruce, her sister Geraldine, and her first husband, Edgar Dauphinee. After raising her family in Dartmouth, Lillian came home with Lester to Milton to care for her mother for many years, before returning to live in Dartmouth.

Lillian served on the executive of the Milton Heritage Society and the board of the United Church of Liverpool. She was a member of the Woodlawn United Church in Dartmouth and took pride in serving the church community through her long-term membership with the united church women.

Lillian was a devoted mother and grandmother who sent cards and gifts to mark every achievement and milestone. She always made the effort to keep in touch with her family members outside of Nova Scotia, and enjoyed traveling to visit family, especially her grandchildren, despite her health challenges. Lillian was a warm and sociable lady and had many long-standing friendships. She was always elegantly dressed for every occasion, and even for no occasion. She enjoyed strawberries, Lester’s cooking, and a good lobster roll.
