Roxie Viola Mcbride

McBride, Roxie V., age 93, of Caledonia, Queens County, passed away on Friday, January 9th, 2015, in North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia.

Born in Harmony Mills, Queens County, she was a daughter of the late Ashton and Melissa (Eisan) Frail.

She is survived by sister, Norma Kennedy, of Charlottetown; daughter-in-law, Carolyn McBride; grandson, Christopher McBride, both of Halifax.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd; sons, Stillman, Douglas; sisters, Doris Frail, Joyce Veinot; brother Bernard Frail.

Roxie was well known as an Avon representative for 25 years, for her beautiful flower gardens, and for her cross-stich needlework on many quilts. A member of Caledonia United Baptist Church, she sang in the choir for over 50 years.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13th, 2015, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service, at 2:00 p.m., both from the Caledonia United Baptist Church. Reverend John Boddy officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Harmony. Memorial Donations may be made to the Caledonia United Baptist Church, the Harmony Cemetery Fund or to the North Queens Fire Department.

A special thanks to all the North Queens Nursing Home staff for the excellent care , compassion and many acts of kindness shared with Roxie while she resided there.
