Cunningham - Maurice R. “Moe”, 86, of Liverpool, formerly of Milton, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024 in Queens Manor, Liverpool, NS
Born in Milton, Moe was a son of the late Arthur and Muriel (Berryman) Cunningham.
Moe worked for Nova Scotia Power for twenty years as a line maintenance worker. He worked in the woods hauling logs with horses and built houses and barns with the wood he hauled. Moe is best known as a butcher and for shoeing horses. He enjoyed playing baseball and volleyball, attending exhibitions and horse pulls where he won many trophies over the years. Moe also enjoyed country music, wrestling and western shows and having his pint of beer each night along with his chewing tobacco.
Moe is survived by his wife Glenda (Huphman) of Queens Manor, Liverpool. His daughters Corena “Cookie” (Richard) Chase and Nikki Huphman, both of Liverpool and Julia (Justin) Colp of Milton. His sons Jeffery (Kim) and Ricky (Lisa Ozon), both of White Point and Lawrence “Ping” (Kim Crouse) of Milton. Also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. His sister Ellen Brewster of Brooklyn.
Besides his parents, Moe was predeceased by his sisters Irene, Gloria Smith, Edie Lloyd and Catherine MacNutt and his brother Eugene.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Milton community Cemetery. No flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made below
