Marilyn M. Langevin

d. September 24, 2024

Marilyn M. Langevin 82, of Summerville, NS peacefully passed away on Tuesday September 24, 2024 at North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia, NS.

Born in Liverpool, NS, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Harold Wentzell and the late Dorothy (Verge) Lohnes.

Marilyn loved gardening, attending concerts and plays at the Astor Theatre, and playing Chase the Ace. But her true love was to dance with Leo. Even as they aged, and it got more difficult they would dance together.

Marilyn’s exceptional talent for cooking brought joy to many, effortlessly whipping up feasts for a dozen or more at moments notice. Her love for baking, particularly those heavenly pies, was something everyone enjoyed. As gracious and generous hosts, Marilyn and Leo would open their home to family, friends and acquaintances, turning ordinary gatherings into extraordinary and memorable celebrations. The countless memories Marilyn and Leo created through entertaining will continue in the memories of family and friends.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Leo, daughter Kim Power (Kris), Victoria BC and sister Joanne Garred (Ernest), Edmonton AB.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Celebration of Life is to be held at a later date. Donations may be made to North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia, NS. Online condolences may be made below.

A very special thank-you to Sue and Jim Hunt for the unending care and support that they showed Marilyn. Thank-you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Queens General Hospital for their endless understanding and utmost professionalism. Thank-you to the staff of North Queens Nursing Home for their compassion and care for Marilyn in the short time she was there. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to everyone who visited Marilyn while she was in Queens General Hospital and North Queens Nursing Home.

When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love we all shared, miss me but let me go. (Quote from Christina Rossetti’s poem – Let Me Go)
