Shirley Maxine Mansfield

MANSFIELD – Shirley M., 83, of Milton, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 18, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Born in Italy Cross, Shirley was a daughter of the late Eldridge and Helen (Carver) Young.
Shirley worked for the former Best Yeast Plant in Brooklyn, worked for the Royal Bank of Canada Liverpool Branch as a teller, taught night school sewing and was a clerk for Veinotte’s Footwear for several years. She was a member of the “Crafty Critters” of Milton. She and her husband George enjoyed traveling, as well as a good kitchen party, especially on Christmas Eve where she would also celebrate her birthday; George on guitar and Shirley at the piano. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her husband, of 63 years, George; her daughters Laura-Lee (Gary) Mitchell of Hantsport, Jo-anne Mansfield (Peter Dulong) of Tusket, her son Michael (Emily) of Moncton, NB. Her grandchildren Andrew, Alicia, Paige, Kyle and Latisha and her great grandchildren Tyla, Aiden, Harmoni, Max, Mary. Her sisters Brenda Thorn of Georgia, USA and Judy (Wayne) McLeod of Milton. Her brother Gary of Liverpool.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at a later date. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Queens County S.P.C.A. or to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
