MacLEOD – Wilma M., 83, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2023 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Liverpool, Wilma was a daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl (White) Whynot.
Wilma worked for the former New System Laundry in Liverpool as well as a clerk at Starvin’ Marvin’s convenience store and Lanes Privateer Inn as a housekeeper. Wilma’s happy place was her home – her Palace. As long as she had new mats, curtains and anything for her house, she was over the moon. Wilma never missed the news, weather and, of course, her favourite T.V. Show “Friends”. Her biggest joy was seeing her family and friends come through the door, but, remember, never when “Friends” was on. Life will never be the same without her.
Wilma is survived by her daughters Doreen of Hunts Point; Debbie (Dale) Banks of Springhill; her sons Gordon (Patti) and Wade (Thelma), both of Liverpool. Grandchildren Scott, Jason, Dale, Lindsay, Shania and Brooke and her great grandchildren Riley and Luca. Her sister Frances Burkeholder (Dave Waterman) of Bridgewater.
Besides her parents, Wilma was predeceased by her husband Kingsford, daughters Joanne and Vickie, her grandson Ashley, her sister Linda Whynot and her brothers Rodney and Wayne.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Bog Road, Liverpool. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the IWK Childrens’ Hospital in memory of her grandson Ashley. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
