MacLEOD – Jack F., 84, of Milton, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Liverpool, Jack was a son of the late William and Arline (McLeod) MacLeod.
Jack spent his working career in the retail grocery industry working for Dominion and then Sobeys in Halifax, Bridgewater and Liverpool as well as also running his own convenience store in Milton for two years. Upon retiring in 2001, Jack loved spending time in his garden and sharing his bounty with family and neighbors alike. He loved to watch things grow and had a natural green thumb. He was also a lifetime member of the Highway Pentecostal Assemblies, Liverpool.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ellen (Weagle); daughters Vickie (Brian) Loader of White Point and Valerie (Randy) Crouse of Middlefield. His son Brad (Linda) MacLeod of Windsor Junction. His grandchildren Damara Loader, Brennan Loader, Janelle (Steve) Loader-Keough, Matthew Kittridge, Schuyler Kittridge, Eli Crouse, Becky MacLeod and Sarah MacLeod. Great grandchildren Morgan Loader and Easton Loader. His brother Bruce (Judy) MacLeod of New Brunswick.
Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his beloved daughter Paulette “Poppy”; sisters Helen and Mary; brothers Morris, Robert and Dan.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. with his granddaughter Pastor Janelle Loader-Keough officiating. A private family burial will take place following the service. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
