MACK – Marianne, 84, of Mill Village, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Harbourview Haven, Lunenburg on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
Born in Brooklyn, she was a daughter of the late Michael Hugh and Evelyn (Godfrey) Walsh.
Marianne went to school in Brooklyn and Liverpool, finishing her education at the Bridgewater Commercial School graduating in secretarial. She married Alfred Mack in 1953 and resided in Mill Village for the rest of her life having an active interest in Alfred’s trucking business, sawmill and farm operations. Marianne was an active member of Bethany United Church in Mill Village participating in the UCW, Women’s Institute, Home and School as well as being a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Mill Village Fire Department.
Marianne was an avid reader, enjoyed crafts, painting, playing cards and scrabble, doing crosswords and gardening.
She is survived by her sons Alfred (Joy) of Mill Village, Christopher of Newcombville, four grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Her brother John Michael (Sandra) of Brooklyn as well as a number of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Marianne was predeceased by her husband Alfred and her brother William.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mill Village Community Cemetery. Lay Minister Peter Anthony officiating.
