MACDONALD – June R., 92, of Port Mouton, Queens County, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023 in Surf Lodge, Lockeport.
Born in Mill Village, June was a daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Hull) Connolly.
June will be remembered for her involvement and work at the United Church as elder, steward and the UCW. She was very involved in the M.S. Society over the years during her husband’s battle with the disease. She will be remembered for her wonderful culinary skills and enjoyed laying out a table for family members whenever they visited. For many years, she taught sewing at night school and was a seamstress to many people. She also hosted the TOPS group in her home and always enjoyed seeing all the members on Thursday night.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Colleen (Timothy) Roy, granddaughters Bridget (Michael) MacLeod and Erin (James) Conrad. She will be remembered as great nanny June by her five great grandchildren: Jacob and Ryan Conrad, Meghan, Connor and Garrett MacLeod. She will also be missed by her sister Mary (Ivan) Stewart and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, June was predeceased by her husband Sherwood, brothers Ralph, Samuel and one in infancy, sisters Ada Smith and Margaret Knock. She also held close to her heart the loss of her first infant daughter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 10:00 until 11:00 followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. all from Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reception to follow.
