MacBRIDE – Arlene G., 95, of Kempt, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Shoreham Village, Chester on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
Born in Lynn, Mass, Arlene was a daughter of the late Sheldon and Jeanette (Moran) Rawding.
Arlene was a member of the Kempt Baptist Church and the Womens’ Institute of Nova Scotia. She also belonged to the Kempt Sewing Circle as well as Pearle Chapter #71, Order of the Eastern Star, Caledonia.
Arlene is survived by her daughters Doreen (John) Holdright of Kempt; Joanne (Stephen) Harnett of Lower Sackville. Her sons Garth (Sherri) of Hebbville and Barry of Molega. Her grandchildren Shawna Holdright (Ray Waterman), Ryan MacBride (Helen Conrad), Tyler (Ashley) MacBride, Alicia (Matthew) Enders and Matthew Harnett (Melissa Leone). Her great grandchildren Anthony Smith, Emily Smith (John Donovan), Kolby MacBride, Hayden MacBride, Kylee MacBride, Brody Enders, Olivia Enders and Sawyer Harnett. Her great great granddaughter Karleigh Donovan. Her sisters Jeanette Oickle of Dartmouth and Velda (Ronald) Forrest of Kempt. Her brother Eldon (Suzanne) of Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Besides her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her husband Allison, her grandson Christopher Holdright, sisters Marie Kempton, Shirley Dowling and her brothers Leon, Glenn, Kendall and Herman.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. An Order of Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. followed by funeral service all in Kempt Baptist Church. A private family interment will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kempt. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Kempt Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
