LeBLANC – John G., 74, of Mersey Point, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
Born in Liverpool, John was a son of the late Joseph A. and Elva M. (Dagley) LeBlanc.
John graduated from NSIT and went to work with Bowater Mersey Paper Company Limited as a pipefitter for over 25 years retiring as foreman. After his retirement, John worked as a self employed plumber. He was a foster parent of thirty seven children over the years and was a former Cub Scout Leader. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play hockey and baseball. He enjoyed playing darts, softball and lob ball and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. John was also a former member of the local militia as well as Mersey Branch #38, Royal Canadian Legion, Liverpool. John enjoyed playing the lottery with the hopes of the “big win” and being outdoors whether cutting his wood or gardening.
John is survived by his wife of over 50 years Carol (Clattenburg); his daughters Annette (Matt Hatt) of Milton; Sabra Ann of Ontario; Jennifer, Frances Foley and Meagan, all of Liverpool. Son Dennis (Savana Barron) of Liverpool. Grandchildren Tristan, Trey, Brandon, Chloe, Christopher, Emberley, Rachel, Jenna, Patrick, Brynn-Marie, Harley, Brayden and Dakota. Great grandchildren Emersyn and Jase. His brothers Andrew of Kingston, ON and Jim (Carol) of Ottawa, ON.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brother Paul, son in law Dan Hatt, foster son Christopher Elliot and sister in law Lou LeBlanc.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Visitation and prayer service will be held Monday, May 2, 2022 from 7 until 9 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. No flowers, donations to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
