John Boyd Bolivar

 Bolivar, John Boyd, 84, of Port Joli passed away at South Shore Regional Hospital on February 13, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

 John was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia and was the son of the late Byron and Hilda Bolivar

 John worked as a carpenter for many years but his love was in the woods and at his camp.

 John was very rigid about his meal times. Meal times were at 8, 12 and 5 with little room for negotiation. He also had a breakfast menu for each day of the week, which was followed to a “T”.

 He loved spending time in his garden, notably deer-proofing his vegetables. He also had a great love of feeding the birds and the squirrels from the feeder. 

 John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce (Robertson); son Bryden (Holly) Bolivar of Port Mouton, and daughter Kim Rhodenizer of Yarmouth. Grandchildren, Jacklyn (James) Titus, Bretton (Brianna) Bolivar, Mikaela (Brandon) Rhodenizer and Julianne Rhodenizer and Great-grandchildren Brody and Harper. Also brother Randall (Barb) of Dayspring. 

 Aside from his parents, John was predeceased by his son-in-law Rob. 

 Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. There will be a graveside service held at a later date.
