Leona M. Jefferson

JEFFERSON – Leona M., 98, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Southwest Port Mouton, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Effie (Roy) Burgess.

Leona enjoyed making clothes, knitting and baking. She was a former member of the Liverpool United Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary and the Merry Makers Band in the 1970’s and 1980’s.  She enjoyed her time at the cottage in Hibernia and playing auction 45’s.   For the last three years, Leona was a resident in Meadowbrook Manor, South Brookfield. She loved spending time with her family especially her five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons Raymond Fraser of Liverpool and Bernard (Carol) Fraser of Bridgewater.

She was predeceased by her first husband Raymond Fraser, her second husband George Jefferson, her son Donald Fraser, her grand daughter Tammy Fraser, her sisters Oressa, Kathleen, Addie, Etta and Marion, her brothers Cecil, Owen, Aubrey, Lowell, Francis, Owen, Roger, Seldon and Lockhart.

A graveside service will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Liverpool United Baptist Cemetery. Reverend Steven Hopper officiating. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Liverpool United Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
