Ives – Darcy Boyd “Scooby”, age 58, of Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Sandy Point, N.S., Darcy was a son of the late John and Bessie “Betty” (Ellingwood) Ives.
Darcy was a jack of all trades and a master of many. If there was something he couldn’t fix he would just figure it out. He had many jobs over the years but worked mainly as a handyman. Darcy loved animals, his Rock and Roll music and collecting Coca Cola swag. Darcy was a very laid back, easy going man who would do anything to help a friend or a person in need. Above all else, he was most passionate about spending time with his family and many friends.
He is survived by his loving companion, Kim Whynot; daughters, Abigail Ives (Shane Stevens) of Berwick, Holly (Jonathon) Huskins of Truro, Natalie Ives (Kirk Hynick) of Port Mouton, Kerri Wilson of Liverpool; son, MacKenzie (Vicky Wentzell) of Liverpool; grandchildren, Ethan, Ashley, Dillon, Tyler, Maggie, Isaiah and Eli; sisters, Susan (James) Hunt of Mersey Point, Donna Murray (Allen) of Miramichi, New Brunswick; brothers, Charles (Marsha) of Waasis, New Brunswick, Patrick (Karen) of Liverpool; best friends Ronny Levy and Wayne Oickle.
He was predeceased by a sister in infancy, Sally Marie; brothers, John and Terry.
Visitation will be held on Monday December 7th, 2020, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am, both from Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital or to the Canadian Cancer Society. To share memories and condolences, please visit www.chandlersfuneral.com. As per NS Health, COVID-19 precautions are in effect. All those attending are required to bring their own mask, provide contact tracing information and hand sanitize while attending Darcy’s service.
