Isabel Ezelia (Dexter) Fraelic, daughter of the late Captain Cecil and Ezelia Dexter of Brooklyn, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully in Queens Manor on January 25, 2025.
Issy, as she was known to friends and family, celebrated her 100th birthday this past September. She married Joseph Lewis Fraelic on May 9, 1947. They were married for 69 years and had three sons. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. Her boys and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her home was their second home and she loved them all, unconditionally.
The ultimate homemaker, she was known for her cooking and baking. So many happy memories were made in her kitchen. She had a wonderful sense of humor and the best laugh! Issy lived a full life, much cherished and treasured by her family. Every spring we will remember her when the Mayflowers bloom. She loved to pick Mayflowers and give them away.
She is survived by her three sons, Joe (Gerri), Jim (Liz) and Jerry (Dee). Also four grandchildren, Joe (Petra), Chris, Leanne (Cory), and Scott (Vanessa). Eight great grandchildren, Joey, Eoin, Devon, Miles, Sneha , Nadia, Jack and Evie. Also survived by her five nieces, Glady and Alexis, Sharon and Patti, and Jolene.
Besides her parents, Issy was predeceased by her husband Joseph….known to all as Joesy, her brothers Ross Dexter and Cecil Dexter and her sister Gladys Maclean.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A private family service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made below.
The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Queens Manor. We always knew she was loved there, too.
