It is with heavy hearts that the family of Peter Roland Irving, 62, of Brooklyn, Queens County, announce his passing at home on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
Born in Liverpool, he was the son of the late Albert and Jean (Hartlen) Irving.
For more than 20 years Peter worked as a foreman at Harry Freeman & Son Limited, which became a second home for him. Peter loved sports, enjoyed downhill skiing with his son, Kyle and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also cherished his hang out time with buddies at Wendell’s garage and had a passion for antique cars and fast boats. Peter always remembered how he loved spending his summers growing up at Aunt Amy’s cottage on Ponhook Lake. In his later years, Peter spent much of his summers at their own cottage on Ponhook. The family will always remember Peter’s storytelling, of which some think may be exaggerated just a bit. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and caring grandfather.
Peter will be greatly missed by wife Rose (Churchill), daughter Jessica (Kendall) Farmer of West Berlin, son Kyle of Hunt’s Point, and granddaughter Ally Farmer, his greatest joy.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Lohnes and his brother-in-law Harold Lohnes.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandler’s Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will be Sunday, May 27th, 2018 at 2:00 at Chandler’s Funeral Home, Liverpool. Reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to The Lodge That Gives or charity of choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
