Hirtle, Muriel Rose, 63, of Northfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 5th, 2013, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Springfield, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Madeline (Acker) MacDow.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In her younger years Muriel worked for Scotia Gold in the canning factory, but she is best known for her expertise at Christmas wreath making. She enjoyed playing darts and listening to old time country music and she had a special place in her heart for her pet cats.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Byron ; sons Jeffery (Rachel), of South Range, Chester (Sherry), of Fernie, B.C.; grandchildren Kevin, Ocean; sisters Kathleen (Douglas) Hirtle, of Kempt, Eva Leary, of New Germany; brothers Mark, of Northfield, William (Alice) Leary, of New Germany; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son Wayne.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A Celebration of Muriel’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 11th, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., from Kempt United Baptist Church, Kempt. Reverend John Boddy officiating. Burial will be in Northfield Cemetery.
