 LOWE, Hattie Belle, 77, passed away quietly on Sept 8, 2024 at the QEII Infirmary. 

 Born in Liverpool, Hattie’s early hobbies included reading, crafts (bead work) and going to BINGO. Later on, it included sewing, quilting and knitting dishcloths. She was big in donating to various organizations. Hattie had various employments which included working at the Liverpool Laundry, WA-Su-Wek, babysitting and teaching sewing and quilting.

 At a younger age, she loved competing in the Rolling Pin toss and canoeing during Milton Days and Privateer Days. After Gary Sr. retired from Bowater Mersey, they spent almost 6 months of the year in the Margaree Forks. Hattie was well known for eating out at her favorite restaurants either in Liverpool or Cape Breton.

 Hattie is survived by her 3 children: Noelle Metzger of Western Head, Genevieve “Genny” Lowe (Scott Lewis) of Eastern Passage and Gary Lowe, Jr. (Milton) and his partner (Tammy Swinimer) of Gold River, and most importantly her two beloved grandchildren Brandon and Makayla Lowe. Hattie was also survived by 2 of her younger siblings Lyman (Dianne) Whynot and Phyllis (Eldridge) Whynot, both of Milton.

 Hattie was predeceased by her loving husband Gary Sr. and her son-in-law Richard Metzger.

 A gathering will be held at Chandlers’ Funeral Home in Liverpool on Sept 13, 2024 from 4 pm to 6 pm. Interment will take place at a later date for immediately family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Online condolences may be made below.
