Hatt – Linda D., 71, of Danesville, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.
Born in Bridgewater, Linda was a daughter of the late Malcolm and Freda (Bruhm) Whynot.
Linda worked for the former Acadia Gas Co. in Bridgewater and the family service station in Italy Cross. She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s company, Wade Hatt Construction. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed gardening, doing crafts, cooking, baking (famous for her mince meat pies) and shopping with her granddaughters. She loved spending time with her family especially at holidays.
Linda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wade; her daughter Shelly Hatt ( Mark Whynot) of Port Mouton; her son Jamie (Amanda) of White Point. Her granddaughters Makala Whynot and Destiny Hatt. Her sisters Marilyn Johnson and Patsy Johnson , both of Danesville; Sylvia Smicer of Lower Sackville; Sheila (Roger) Lohnes of Rhodes Corner; her brothers Ronnie of Italy Cross; Raymond of Danesville and Rayburne (Janie) of Middlewood as well as “ step grandson” Tyler Whynot of Danesville and special friend Sandra Frausell of Bridgewater.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reverend Vivian Moores officiating. Burial will be in Mill Village Cemetery. No flowers, donations may be made to Queens General Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Red Cross. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
