Giffin – Heather Sybil, age 79, of Liverpool, Nova Scotia, passed away on Friday, October 2nd, 2020, at the Halifax Infirmary, Halifax.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Helena (Stevens) Davidson.
Heather was a graduate of Miss Murphy’s Business College in Halifax. After graduation she accepted a job at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, where she worked for 15 years. During this time she met her husband Basil and eventually they relocated to Liverpool. She was later employed at Lane’s Privateer Inn at the front desk for many years before working at the Liverpool Subway before her retirement. Heather was very active in the community and was an avid gym member at the Queens Place Emera Centre Gym, she also enjoyed gardening and painting. Above all else, Heather’s greatest joy in life was her family and she greatly loved her grandchildren who were her life. She was a caring woman with a unique sense of humor.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Basil; daughters, Dawn Cole (Allen Sperry) of Brooklyn, Susan (Michael) Baxter of Saint John, New Brunswick; grandchildren, Caitlyn Cole, Brett Baxter and Jack Baxter; sister, Helen (Marty) Raine of Halifax; brother in law, Jack (Florence) Armstrong of West Dover.
Heather was predeceased by a sister, Mona Armstrong.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M., Thursday, October 8th, 2020, at Chandlers Funeral Home.
