GEDDES – Myra Louise, 94, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor, Liverpool on Saturday, February 25, 2017.
Born in Liverpool, the youngest of ten children, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice (Jacklyn) Young.
Myra played basketball for the Liverpool ladies team and won the provincials in the 1940’s. She enjoyed good food including her sweets, playing cards and baseball, especially rooting for the Blue Jays. She was also interested in US politics and the Royals. She loved to spend time with her family.
Myra is survived by her daughter Carol Ann (Stan) Knell of New Germany and her son Brian (Andi Lee) of Hunts Point. Her grandchildren Brandon Knell and Chandra and Jake Geddes. Her brother Robert of Shoreham Village, Chester. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by sisters Alba, Edith, Ethel, Kathleen, Agnes and infant sister Beulah and her brothers Eldridge, Lloyd and Burton.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. Flowers gratefully accepted and donations may be made to Queens Manor, 20 Hollands Drive, Liverpool. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com. Myra’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful angels who looked after their Mom for the last three and a half years in the Manor especially the staff who were on during her final day and kept her comfortable. All your care will not be forgotten. Also thank you to Dr. Weagle, Dr. MacDonald and , on her last day, Dr. “Mike” as well as Reverend Judy Cross.
