Ivan Willis Fisher

FISHER – Ivan W., 89, of Southwest Port Mouton, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
Born in Southwest Port Mouton in the home he grew up in and lived in for 68 years, Ivan was a son of the late Vincent and Florence “Flora” (Daury) Fisher.
Ivan worked for Nickerson Bros. Fish plant and then C.W. McLeod Fisheries all his life. In his younger years, Ivan enjoyed hunting and trout fishing as well as camping on the Woods Property with his family. He, and his late wife Hilda, loved going for drives and look for deer. Ivan will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and family man.
Ivan is survived by his daughters Darlene (Joseph) Daury, Nicole (Trevor) Williams and Wanda (Randy) Bowers, all of Port Mouton; Step daughter Wilma Huphman (Velma Heasman) of Liverpool. Sons John (Debbie) of Port Mouton; Clinton (Cindy Thorburne) of Hunts Point; Vincent (Rose) of Brooklyn. 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 step grandson.
Besides his parents, Ivan was predeceased by his wife Hilda (Anthony); infant son Scotty James; Sister Edna Roy; twin brother Earl and his companion Evelyn Groves.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Southwest Port Mouton Community Cemetery.
