Elaine Elizabeth Wagstaff

 Wagstaff, Elaine Elizabeth, 96, of Brooklyn, Queens County, NS, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, at Ryan Hall, Bridgewater where she resided since 2018.

 Born in Boston, Massachusetts she was the daughter of the late Carl and Blanche (Vaughn) Greek, formerly of East Port Medway where Elaine loved to spend summers as a child enjoying the salt water with her cousins.

 Elaine was active in her Brooklyn community where she played bridge, and was a member of the Brooklyn Baptist Church, its choir and social committee.

 Elaine was a clerk at Seldon’s Pharmacy, C.D. Hemeon’s Pharmacy and Liverpool Co-op where she became the manager. Elaine was an avid antique collector, gardener and knitter. She was still knitting in her 95th year, making cat blankets (snuggies) for SHAID Tree. She was a four time cancer survivor.

 Elaine is survived by her son, Derek (Iva) of Charleston: daughters-in-law, June Harlow (Chess) of Charleston and Julie Brown of Truro; sister, Marjorie (Paul) Freeman of Brooklyn; and several grandchildren. Grandson, Andrew Frelick’s children, Cadence, Chloe and Cole’s photos were never far away.

 Besides her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Donald and sons, Douglas and Stephen.

 Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Seaside Cemetery, Gardner Road, Brooklyn. Pastor Noah Lohnes officiating. No flowers, donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made below.
